About Fr. Robert J. Gaestel 

Father Bob began his ordained ministry in 1979 in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, beginning a vocation marked by steady leadership, thoughtful preaching, liturgical depth, and compassionate pastoral care. After serving in two parishes, he began what would become a remarkable 42-year ministry as rector of the historic Church of the Angels in Pasadena, California. He retired from full-time parish ministry in June, 2025.

In addition to writing weekly homilies and pursuing a range of avocations, Father Bob now assists at the Church of the Ascension, Sierra Madre, and is available as a supply priest and for other church services by arrangement. He can be reached at frbob53@gmail.com.
